Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are used to regain the strength and functionality of your natural teeth while also attending to many cosmetic dental imperfections.  Badly damaged teeth can easily be restored and excessive decay, fractures, chips or discolouration can all be fixed. The damaged tooth is treated by bonding a custom made, precisely fitted cap over the tooth as a cover to provide increased protection and restore functionality and appearance. Crowns improve the shape and size of your teeth which can alleviate chewing problems and improve your speech.

Besides a cap, a crown can also be a full replacement tooth used in conjunction with dental implants or a bridge to replace missing teeth. A crown is permanently fixed to the implant or bridge to provide a secure replacement tooth that has a natural appearance and restores full functionality.

Dental bridges can also be used to replace one or more missing teeth. The area left by a missing tooth is filled in by bridging a prosthetic tooth between two crowns bonded to the teeth on either side of the gap. Bridges are secured permanently in place and are natural in appearance, associating well with the rest of your teeth. Bridges are a good option to replace multiple missing teeth in a row.
